Style Swap with The Sunny Scenery

Hiyee! This is N from TheSunnyScenery!
I've decided to impersonate Shelby for the day (muahaha) and take over her blog for just a sec. She'll BRB but for now you're stuck with me ;) -- hope that's okay! We decided to do a little collaboration today and swap blogs for a quick fashion post! For those of you who may be familiar with my blog The Sunny Scenery, it's all about them fashion, beauty, skincare, and lifestyle. From outfits to reviews, to tags, I've got a little bit of an identity crisis going on so it's a whole slew of stuff going on there--check it out! I even put out the occasional video if you're more of a watcher than a reader :) P.S. Shelby's got my page covered so go on over and check it out here.

Don't be a stranger and come introduce yourself, I'd love to meet you! If you wanna learn a little more about me, check out my "Versatile Blogger" post for some fun facts.

Facing it up with:

Rimmel London Clean Finish Foundation
Physician's Formula CoverTox Ten
Eyes Lips Face (E.L.F.) 83 Pcs. Essential Collection
Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyebrow Pencil
Rimmel Scandal Eyes 002 Bullet Proof Beige
Ulta Eye Crayon in Toasted
Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
Too Faced Juicy Jewels Liquid Lipstick

This eye looks is super easy and quick to do and really makes a statement without being too much. The exaggerated contour really helps to define the eye and give a good amount of depth to the lid (shout out to all of my monolid mates out there!). I used a combination of a nice champange and coppery base followed by an array of red-toned shadows to create this smoky fall-appropriate look.

Sporting:

Neon Green and Gold Feather Statement Necklace
H&M Cream-Colored Batwing Top
H&M Army Green Pants
Rust-Colored Boots
Gold Bangle

I know Fall is usually all about them reds and deep tones but I decided to switch it up here and there by throwing in a more rust-colored accent to go along with slightly muted greens. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Oxblood and Wine-Reds but I think fall embraces many other hues! Forest-y greens, Yellows, etc. This outfit is a nice transition from the summery days to the autumn nights. Just enough "dress" to impress but casual enough to rock all day, erry day :D

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The Shoe that Carries a Woman (PROM #1)

Nine West Rebeca Mary Jane Pumps (Wide) $80
on sale for $35 at Off Broadway

You may have heard the phrase, "A woman can carry a bag, but it's the shoe that carries a woman" well let me just say, I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN IN THESE SHOES ;)

Prom is approaching REALLY FAST (mid March) and my date is 6' 1''…. I'm  5' 4.5" just to give you a comparison; yes, the 0.5" does matter. I'm so excited because this is my first REAL pair of heels (I own a pair of $11 dollar pumps from payless, but those are kind of a mess!) Until now, I held off buying heels because I didn't really feel the need to do so-- plus I thought they were a little bit too mature for my taste but if theres ever time to invest in a good pair, it's when you're going to be dancing the night away, right?

You might be like my mom and roll your eyes when I say this, but I really do think that they're comfortable! I'm not going to lie, I'm probably in the "advanced new born calf" stage when it comes to walking in them, but Ive basically been wearing these around the house non stop to get some practice. I'LL GET THERE GUYS, DONT WORRY! The length of the heel is 4 inches, but theres a subtle half inch of platform which makes it much easier to walk in, not to mention the fact that theres a nice bit of cushion for the balls of your feet. This shoe comes in wide, which is TWO THUMBS UP FROM ME! It's hard to accept, but I definitely have wide feet and it's such a nuisance when my shoes rub against the side of my pinky toe-- thats where I get blisters. <3 So much love for these beauties.

Lastly, I love the shape of the shoe.
Im not too sure what it's called, but the part of the shoe covering the toes is almost like an arrow shape. I find it really flattering because I hate it when my toes peek through the top because they're not covered and I think these shoes do the opposite of that VERY well.

<-- i felt the need to include a picture in case no one understood me. I have abnormally long toes so this tends to happen a lot and I'm not a fan of that look! This is just a random picture from google  btw…. and this may seem kind of counter productive but dang those shoes are actually pretty cute…

And then theres the strap--- oh my. I've always loved that retro Mary Jane strap and I'm so glad that it's coming back around! I've heard that it makes your legs look shorter, but WHATEVER. I love it.
