FOTD: Stay Golden

Lately, I've been going through a little bit of a gold eyeshadow phase so I thought it only fitting to do a face of the day! If I had to describe this look, I'd say its really fun, girly, and perfect for a night out.

Happy Spring

Honestly, where I live there isn't much of a difference between winter and spring temperature wise, so what I really look forward to around this time of year is seeing all the blooming flowers in my neighborhood!
Welcome back, Spring! I missed you <3

This week especially has been such a blur. The highlight had to be prepping for my lab practical on Wednesday-- we'll given a "cation soup" which includes any combination of the following: Iron, Copper, Silver, Manganese, Aluminum and Zinc. Using a a range of strong as well as weak acids and bases, we'll have to figure out which of the following are in our mystery solution. We were given time to practice this week, and i found it REALLY fun! My idea of fun, anyways. Hopefully you all had an awesome week.

Beyond Cosy by Essie (PROM #2)

SHOUT OUT TO SOPHIE, WAVERLEY, AND JENNY

anyways,

After I made this post about the shoes that I would be wearing to prom, I decided to turn my experience into a a mini series! I'll be posting about everything that I did in preparation for my Junior Prom. These posts will appear every now and then-- since I don't want it to be overkill… heh. Let's get started!

For nails I went with Beyond Cosy by Essie. I'd been given this polish from a friend who knew what my dress looked like and I have to say, it matches PERFECTLY. This is a really great glitter polish for any sort of occasion whether you have a formal event or are just feeling like you want a little bit of extra glamour in your day. What I really like is how it consists of little specs of silver (two coats is perfect for a really opaque look) yet the polish itself has a yellow undertone. This makes it really flattering for people with both cool or warm undertones. The only downside to this polish is the lasting power-- without a topcoat, I started to see chips about 2-3 days after application. With a topcoat, it lasted around 4 days.

Just incase you missed it!

'DayWear' Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Oil-Free Creme SPF 25

A few days ago I picked up the Estee Lauder DayWear Moisturizer with SPF 25 to replace my Clinique Moisturizing gel. I wanted something that would help the dry patches on my skin which had started to make an appearance as the weather has been a little bit crazy where I live.

The moisturizer is very creamy with a fresh cucumber scent and a little bit goes a long way. I use about half the size of a pea and dot it all over my face focusing on my cheeks and just a little bit on my forehead-- one thing I noticed was that unlike the Clinique gel that I had grown accustomed to, it left a little bit of a moisturizer-oily layer on my skin rather than completely sinking in and disappearing. That being said, I think it really works for my dry skin and I've seen an improvement in my skin for past week that I've been using it. My skin feels really soft and the patches have been greatly reduced. This product also has SPF 25.

p.s. can you see the flash of pink thats peaking out in the first photo? Stay tuned for that ;)

Sunday Sushi

Lately my schedule has just been so off from the rest of my family that we almost never see each other at meal time anymore. Today we made it a point to eat as a family and I gotta say that I really missed it! We all took a hike in the morning and then had a sushi lunch together-- and my dad made some REALLY yummy salad. Hope you guys had a wonderful weak!
